I have a friend, a published writer, who found some of her material being marketed by someone else as their own. She has found some ways of tracking her material on the web using keywords and such, but this article provides even more ideas. I'll be passing it on to her and others in her Forum.

An article you MUST read - lots of food for thought!
Today's first article on the www.earlytorise.com daily list that starts off my blog page was a must read in my opinion..."A Thorn with Every Rose." On first reading I thought it was uplifting, on second I realized that others may disagree with it and it would create lively discussion. So please read it and give me your opinions; I love a good debate!
This is a quote from it that I found quite astounding:

A Garden Tip for the Coming Cold Weather
I live in a coastal area in California, so freezes are are very rare occurrence, but we do get the occasional frost and sometimes it's enough to kill our normally year-round plants.
Just last winter I was admiring a huge, beautiful Jade plant that we planted 10 years before, the year we moved to California and this house. I made a comment to my husband about it. A few days later we awoke to it sagging and looking awful! We had several days of frost warnings so we tried everything to save that beautiful plant. We covered it with a blanket, we ran an extension cord with his worklight and left it on all night under the cover. All to no avail. The plant survived, but so much dead stuff had to be cut off it wasn't much bigger than when we planted it years ago.
Now a new friend, who is a professional gardener told me the secret...string frost sensitive plants with miniature outdoor Christmas lights!
Even if you are in a cold weather climate you may find this tip helpful to either extend your growing season or help sensitive plants winter-over. I remember my Mom wrapping plants in burlap and/or covering them with bushel baskets back east.

The answer is always NO if you don't ask - or in this case, participate!
A thread in a Forum that I regularly post in had a link to http://www.shoemoney.com/2008/09/04/come-to-the-seo-thinktank-2008-on-me/ - a contest for an all expenses paid spot at the SEO Think Tank in San Diego at the end of September. So I looked at it and said to myself, why not enter? I may be new to this but that's why I want to go to this event, to learn more!
I have an "information addiction" and I love to share all of the stuff I find and learn about. My blog is just in the testing stage, but it's evolving and I'm learning in the process.
"People told me they wanted to go to an Internet business event that focused on Networking and learning from each other, in a casual environment." Hmm, that's a quote from the www.shoemoney.com site about how the event came to be. So learning from each other and networking is right up my alley! I'm soaking up as much as I can about how to create a presence on the internet, partly because it's fun, partly to earn some money, and partly because I'm at a place in my life that I can give back some of the knowledge I've learned over the past 30 years of being a business owner.
I have a website under construction (not ready for primetime!) for my newest company, Bridgeway Connections, LLC -"Helping Businesses Work Together to Achieve Their Goals" (tm) and my website for a network marketing company, www.SendOutCards.com/cardgallery that I've begun to promote.
I participate in a Mastermind Group that helps me to stay on task and focussed, and hopefully I help the others in the group as well. I set up a private Google Group for us to post on which was a totally new endeavor for me.
I'm running AdWords campaigns and now Facebook ads to test what that might do for me. I'm beginning to learn about Facebook and LinkedIn and every day is exciting because I know I'm going to learn more!
I have a passion and a crusade for making businesses aware of the pitfalls of Merchant Service Providers and have found and make referrals to the one honest, ethical credit card service provider I found in all of my research. I was doing research for my own company, but when I found them I called the Vice President of Marketing and said, "I want to refer businesses to you, what can we work out?" Venturing into the world of Facebook and LinkedIn
Well, I'm jumping in the water and hope I don't drown! What in the world is a "poke?" It seems everyone is on Facebook or one of the other sites, but I've never looked at them. But now I'm making an attempt and I feel like I've gone to another country and don't speak the language!
I'll just have to see who I can find that will help me figure it out...seems like fun!

Something New For Me - Timeliness!
I have been introduced to the neatest way to send greeting cards! It's a blast to use! You create them online but they're actually mailed, not e-mailed, for you! I've already been on-time with several birthday and anniversary cards (I usually miss them or end up sending "sorry I'm late" cards) and I've created my own cards with photos. I'm even hoping to get the kids to send Grandma notes once in a while.
